Maintain connections
This is the maintenance function for the connections to the SAP systems. This data has to be given:
- short name for the connection (has to be unique!)
- server name
- system number
- client
- language
When not using SSO (Single Sign-on)
- user and password have to be specified
- SSO has to be deactivated.
When using SSO
- SNC and SSO have to be activated and the SNC partner name of the targeted system and your own SNC name have to be specified. If there is more than one user in the targeted client with the SNC name, the user to be used has to be specified additionally.
Server name and system number can be retrieved for the systems in the SAPLogon(Pad).
Enter the data and press the "Add" button. The connection will appear in the table view. For adding other connections the easiest way is to click on an existing one, modify the data in the input fields at the bottom of the list and click the "Add" button.
With the "Test" button you can check whether the connection data and the user credentials are correct and a connection can be established. The "Test" function uses the data from the selected row in the table view. Therefore, when you want to test whether it works what you entered in the input fields you first have to "Add" or "Replace" the connection data in the table view. The result will be displayed in the "Messages / log" text area.
Because of the sensitivity of the stored credentials you can protect this function with a password. Please handle the password carefully, there is no way to restore it in case it will get lost.
